Nothing: taxonomically speaking, humans are animals. Two things that separate the plants from the animals, are basically we can move under our own power and plants intake carbon dioxide instead of oxygen.
-
We are capable of learning to speak in different languages.

In the case of some people, only the fence at the zoo. LOL
-
we have managed to find things to do, that are not fun naked.
-
Nothing, humans are animals. As for what separates us from all OTHER animals, I think it's a higher level of consciousness, which I think of as an emergent property due to our complex brains. This is what allows us to self-determine our relationship with God, to reason through complex issues, to learn different languages (thank you Ice Man) and ways of being, and other things.
-
Our brains. We ponder our own existence; we have consciousness. We rely on more than instinct and opposable thumbs.
-

A larger brain allows us to process more information faster, feel feelings, remember and imagine. Free will lets us choose. A conscience telling right from wrong is a huge difference; it means we make moral choices. For those of you who believe, we are created in the image of God. Where do you think love comes in?
-
Compassion? Morality? Feelings in general? Which cause us to live by more than just our instincts.
-
thumbs...speech just to name a few

Culture, religion, control. Animals are atheist and creatures of instinct, although some will develop personality but usually through careful coaching/monitoring or reasoning that certain actions result in desirable actions.

...our ARROGANCE!!! Thinking more highly of ourselves than we ought to, with terms such as: EXPERT, MASTER, PRO, GURU, etc., I mean, really--at what point does one achieve these "ratings?" Who is it that is qualified to bestow these ratings upon someone? What is HIS(HER) rating--to be able to do so?
-
Nothing
-
Vanity. we're the only ones who find it necessary to add "bling" such as jewels, makeup, plastic surgery, etc. to who we are. We attempt to impress others by presenting a representative of ourselves jazzed up with extras that we weren't born with, enstead of using attraction methods that are instinctually ours.

leaps and bounds. there is no attribute which catigoricaly separates us from animals. many animals can recognise their reflection many animals can show compassion (even adopting babies) training service animals is teaching them to defy their instincts many animals can solve puzzles many animals have a spoken language many animals (birds especialy) create artistic displays. beavers use construction to change the landscape to suit their needs I have even seen video of a wild bobcat killing for pleasure. while we may have more advanced versions of these than animals, all these things exist in the animal kingdom.
-
For some people, I have some serious questions. There is a child that was recently abducted and I question the entire group involved as relatives. Talk about dense. I think sociopaths are animals in disguise. +5

-
Our view point. We see ourselves as superior and singularly intelligent. Not long ago we considered ourselves and earth as the center of the universe. I have no doubt that one day we will find the our scale for measuring intelligence is sadly out of whack. That we are equally intelligent to all life on this planet. That there is very little to separate us from any other animal.
