It would not have formed in the first place, since it's gravity that formed the matter into a spherical shape that we call the earth. If gravity suddenly disappeared, the first thing you'd notice just before you asphyxiate to death is that you'd float around in your room. The second thing you'd realise is that it's gravity that keeps the atmosphere in place.
