Average is difficult, since it depends on the period you are averaging over. If you include in your average all the years going back to when LA was only a small town, well maybe it is. More recent statistics indicate that somebody dropped a zero somewhere. LA in the last few years has had about 500 murders a year (e.g. in 2006 the latest year (in an admittedly brief search) I can find a verified number for it was 480).
That much being said, LA is far from being the most dangerous city in the country. Among very large US cities (population over 1,000,000) LA is actually one of the least murderous.
I highly doubt that is the average rate. It's got to be higher.
No way. Even taking into consideration they may have meant the city and not all of Los Angeles county, I cannot believe that.
Would anyone knw how I could find out where a person lived in Los Angels from 1970-1977 Calif. It is very inportant Thank You Very Much
