I would suggest putting out a fishbowl with a sign, offering free lunch up to a certain price, once a week, to whomever is drawn from it. Yes, it grabs current customers, but they tell their friends.

You're reading I run a small deli, ice cream and pastries shop. Was looking for some good inexpensive marketing ideas to gain more customers. We don't do so bad, but we'd like to see more. Any thoughts or ideas? Word of mouth is always best, looking for something else.
