This article: http://tinyurl.com/yrg732 says they can produce huge amounts of liquid fuels from plant matter. Is that really possible? Will it see the light of day?

It is possible. There is plenty of Ethanol stuff happening. I'd love to see it happen, but all the cars people have are old and aren't equipped to use that type of fuel - and producing them costs, so getting them costs - but I'd like to see the government do something better with some taxes such as replacing the fuel systems or something rather than some of the stuff that people don't want happening.
