I understand that Anime episode titles can either be literal, or interpretively translated ie. Bleach Episode 1: A Shinigami Is Born! Bleach Episode 1: The Day I Became a ''Shinigami'' However, why are there, at tines, seemingly conflicting titles? ie. Bleach Episode 2: Pay Or Play Bleach Episode 2: A Shinigami's Work More importantly, with a series like bleach where each episode is introduced as "Bleach 101" how do you know which is official? By the way, I'm waiting to buy the DVDs until they're all translated, I did the same with InuYasha. I haven't read the manga yet, because, as far as I know they're not all translated (officially) yet, nor have I finished the series, as I don't like reading whilst watching a movie, cartoon, or so on, so why is the first movie already dubbed before the series is, and the second is a few days, or whatever away? Do the movie correspond with a season ending, and as such is not defendant upon the series being finished?

the less literally translated episode titles are likely the official/ legal release episode titles, as fansubs tend to be literal to a fault. They dubbed the movie because they could. It doesn't fit into any articular part of the series' timeline, so i guess they could do it whenever they wanted.
