Well it would be quite a risk. You would need a good (skilled) guide and a lot of luck to survive. I think you would need to be a non-human.

No, one cannot simply walk into mordor.

Not if you're a good person. Mordor is the bastion of evil, greed, and slavery, and the only people allowed to walk in there are people that believe the same. For instance, Sauron could walk right in there and nobody would care. But a hobbit who has the potential to bring this guy down? There's no way in heck they'd just let him walk in there.
