  • .8888 is 8888 10,000ths (8888/10,000). So you can just take the fraction 8888/10,000 and reduce it. I haven't done that kind of math for a long time. The answer I got was 1111/1250. - However, if your Math book is asking about .8888 repeating (.888888888888888888888888888888888888...) then the answer is 8/9. I don't remember how to do that sort of calculation, but hopefully my answer will bring yor question to the front page so someone else can see it.
  • any number consecutive is that number over 9 or divided by 9.
