I have noticed a few friends have changed their avatars and name, and I'm not sure who they are...Happening to you?

Happens all the time! ;-) Some people just aren't satisfied with the name/avatar they originally chose. Others just like to change things up all the time.

There are many ABers who change their name and avatars often. I change my avatar about once a month.
