  • My primary thought is that you should continue reading p.299. As the Ostlings rightly point out, this kind of issue isn’t even vaguely unique to so-called “Mormon” Bible scholars. The /sum bono/ of the chapter comes in its final sentence, at the bottom of this very page:    “These kinds of questions shape the life choices of the Saints, as they shape the     life choices for all religious believers.”
