  • From a Christian perspective, the dinosaurs would have all died out in the flood of Noah's day back in Genesis.
  • I'm no theological expert, but I've never heard of any mention of dinosaurs in the Bible. My understanding is that dinosaurs existed and became extinct prior to the arrival on the scene of man.
  • Perhaps they did not?
  • They would have had to have died prior to man being created. There is an undefined amount of time during the Creative Days... the bible says to God a day is like a thousand years... so it could have been thousands...even millions of years to prepare the Earth for man (which could include creating the dinosaurs then destroying them to provide us with the means of having fossil fuels, etc... just theorizing here). For this reason it is difficult for me to accept the idea that man coincided with Dinosaurs (as they are defined generally, since many dinosaur relations still exist such as the Crocodile). Cave men is a common topic used among those who subscribe to the theory of evolution which most Christians don't subscribe to... even if the Pope conceded and said that evolution might have been a method that God used. (I don't personally lend weight to anything the Pope says... I'm not Catholic).
  • I'm a Christian. Dinosaurs did in fact exist. They were created on day 6 with all the other land animals, atleast the land dinosaurs were. Noah took two of each KIND aboard the ark, which means he took two of each dinosaur kind. Many scientists agree that there were probably only about 50 different KINDS of dinosaurs, not species. For example, there are different dog species like the dingo, the wolf, and all different types of domesticated dogs, BUT they all come from 1 dog kind. So Noah only took 2 of the Kind, so he probably took two wolves(or two of the original dog kind). All the different animals could fit on the ark. This is why we hear God talking to Job about dinosaurs after the flood, because man and dinosaurs DID exist together. We have alot of evidence, some of the best being spongy tissue and red blood cells in T-Rex bones that were broken open.m There are pics on the web, just start your search. Now, death and suffering and disease did not exist until man sinned, therefore we can know for certain that dinosaurs DID exist with man because we see disease in dinosaur bones, not to mention a lot of suffering and death. Also, evolution, Molecules to Man evolution is not possible. If you think it is and you think matter and energy are all that exist then please stop using logic because it is based on non-material laws. You are borrowing from the non-material world view to argue against it. Science is not possible without using the non-material laws of logic, and evolutionists have no basis for the non-material world. God and evolution do not mix at all. The bible means what it says, if it didn't then we couldn't know anything in it for sure. If the universe is the result of random chance properties then so it this planet, and so are you. So then is your brain and your thoughts. If your thoughts are the result of chance random processes then how can you know anything for sure? How do you know you're asking the right questions? • They existed. It was only the large ones that died out, though. THe smaller ones are still with us...they are called birds. (Increasing scientific support for this theory). And almost all of mankind was wiped out- only 8 survived. Linguists have noted that all tribes in the world have some sort of flood story, where only a few people and some animals taken aboard the boat they were on, survived. It is a universal story, which would tie in with the fact that people, being illiterate at the time, would have retained memory of the cataclysm, but not preserved the details as well as the Hebrews did (with their different attitude towards details-ask me about it. It's a whole other question)
  • In my opinion, being a devout Christian, I believe the atmosphere before the flood was perfect because in the Bible, it talks of this event as if it were a new experience for all beings. In Genesis 7:11, it tells us "the windows of heaven were opened" (KJV). Obviously that can be argued that there was a perfect atmosphere before with no rain, snow, hail, etc. Before I continue, you must understand that reptiles never stop growing and many dinosaurs were only the size of chickens. However, there were some that were large. Now, the larger dinosaurs depended on the perfect atmosphere for their survival because of their body stature, so the new atmosphere didn't allow them to survive to their full potential. Therefore, they died out. However, the atmospheric conditions didn't interfere with the humans because they were made in the image of God and He made a covenant with Noah not to destroy him and his family. This will probably confuse most people, but try to understand what I am saying. Every name in the Bible means something. If you look at the first ten names of men listed in the Bible, you will understand. The names can be found in Genesis 5:4-32. I will give the names and their meanings then I will put them, in chronological order, into the sentences that show God's amazing-ness. Adam-"man"; Seth-"appointed"; Enosh-"mortal"; Kenan-"sorrow"; Mahalelel-"the blessed God"; Jared-"shall come down"; Enoch-"teaching"; Methuselah-"his death shall bring"; Lamech-"the desparing"; Noah-"rest or Comfort". Now all together: "Man appointed mortal sorrow. The blessed God shall come down teaching. His death shall bring the despairing rest or comfort". God did not want the people he created in his own image to be completely destroyed because he loved us so much that he wanted to save us. John 3:16- "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him shall not parish, but have everlasting life". God was already telling the people He had great plans for them even though they made Him extremely mad. That is why I believe man wasn't wiped out with the dinosaurs. Now, this is where it all gets tricky. In the Bible, it says that God wiped out all the animals on the ground. The flood would not have hurt all the animals in the water. There were dinosaurs in the water. Right? It can be argued that there are still dinosaurs in the water because it is very deep and all its mysteries cannot be told. Therefore, all the dinosaurs were, more than likely, not killed. If that confuses you, remember that I am only human and can only explain things to the extent of human knowledge. Also, remember that ALL truth can be found in the one and only TRUE book: the Bible. God bless you!
