Attractiveness must be decided on a person to person basis, if at all anyone is interested in the topic. If anyone attempts to define attractiveness of people balonging to any particular race as a whole then it is certainly racism. Besides being racist it would be a very stupid thing to do!

It is the most natural thing in the world to find certain physical types more or less attractive and since each race of people usually share certain common physical traits it would be very odd not to have racial preferences re. what any given person finds physically attractive. This has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with judging a person as someone you may or may not treat equally in non-sexual interaction, and thus nothing to do with racism. It's merely racially aware choice re. sexual attraction. For evolutionary reasons most animals follow pattern and mate with their like. Humans are all one race but who have developed specific physical traits to help them survive in specific environments. Usually the racial groups we have seen develop within the human race find their own race's features most familiar and pleasing (we are all pack / tribal animals), but the exoticism of something 'foreign' can also be very alluring as we have developed large brains and know it's no problem to interbreed with other tribes now. I have a friend (caucasian female) who adores oriental looking men. I do not find black men attractive but it does not stop me from having rewarding friendships with them. I adore blue eyes or pale green eyes; this is a specific which is beyond a specific racial group but cannot be found in some so naturally I am drawn less to Italians and more to Scandinavians. Big deal. Sexual attraction has nothing to do with racism at all and it is so PC for anyone to suggest so, and people do (not you TAp - +++ for the question by the way), that it dangerously detracts from serious discussion of racism problems.

There is such a thing as the home race phenomenon. The people who look the most like those of your upbringing are the people who seem most familiar. Those outside that description are the ones about whom you may say "they all look alike to me". The different look of "outsiders" may be attractive, unattractive, or neutral in your own eyes. If you can recognize this as a natural part of socialization and understand why you feel that way then the diversity of humankind becomes more interesting. Just keep the political correctness out of it.

Liverpudlians. I just find their accent annoying ;)

yes.... but even though I don't pay a cable bill.... I don't watch the ant races much because I get the picture directv provides for me from my parents house... even when I am tailgating or camping *.*

I will say I find the more masculine races unattractive. I am not attracted to virtualy all samoans or navajo (does not mean all native americans, the only cheroke I have known was beautiful). this does not mean I do not like people of those races, just that I am not attracted to the physical attributes that predominate the race. because of the stronger facial features I rarely find africans attractive but there are some regions which lack that attribute and can be quite lovely.

I just don't like quarter midget races. The cars are unattractive and I just don't like to watch them. I know they are probably fun , affordable, and pretty safe but ... Give me a good Formula I race in Monaco or the Indy 500 anytime. IMHO

I have no problem admitting that I tend to find men of my same ethnicity attractive over others. I'm almost certain there's a natural drive to do so - something about making certain that your genetics are passed on. If I were to mate with someone of African decent, very few if any of my genes would be dominant. It would be counterintuitive to my evolutionary succession. Now, I have found men of Middle Eastern and Indian decent attractive, but have never had the desire to form a relationship with one. I think I just always had an internal drive to marry someone of north-eastern European decent (probably why I'm so attracted to Irish and Scottish accents). And I did. And my son has my chin, my nose, and my hair. ^_^

I find some races slightly less sexually attractive than others. But this is sexual preference - nothing to do with racism.

Yep. I don't find Australian Aborigines physically attractive. However that is not a conscious choice I make, and I find women of most other races attractive.

I dont think that would be racism. You do not hate them for their color or their believes, you just do not feel attracted to them. In general I do not even have a type that I specially like. Its more the inside that scares me away often and that has nothing to do with how they look.

The end of a marathon. I do not care where they are from. All look unattractive.

I do not believe that physical appeal is the basis of racism. Racism is thinking someone is less than another group due to race or that your race, whatever it may be, is inherently superior to another. I cannot think of any ethnicity I think of as unattractive because there are always members of it that I find attractive. There are ethnicities that I find more attractive than others: Rromani Gypsy (though some of us are butt oogly), Native American, Hispanic, and more. That does not mean that there are not absolutely gorgeous people from all others. I could find attractive members of every ethnicity with a google search.

Racism is the rendering of negative moral judgement based on race. Finding someone attractive or unattractive is not a moral judgement.
