  • Some of the richest food sources include Brazil nuts, cashews, black walnuts, green leafy vegetables, wheat bran, soybean flour, and blackstrap molasses. Other sources for magnesium are apples, apricots, bananas, avocados, garlic, lima beans, and salmon. Even many herbs and spices contain magnesium (sage, basil, lemongrass, peppermint, parsley, paprika, for example). See anything in that list that you like?
  • Epsom salts in a glass of water (bitter, but lots of magnesium). Epsom salts in your bath water. Magnesium chloride (available as a liquid solution in water).
  • Realize this is from 2007 the question. But figured I would try. I bought magnesium in powder form and take it at night only. I took it last night and has helped my aching legs alot. Its call calm and I bought it at Vitamin shoppe. Hope your feeling better.

  • You can get effervescent (gets into the bloodstream faster) calcium/magnesium powder from a compounding pharmacy that carries a lot of natural supplements (or a health food store). The most impressive thing I've ever experienced was when my Naturopath gave me an I.V. of magnesium. It was the most relaxing thing I've ever experienced, you have a totally clear head.:D I can't seem to do it on my own or with oral supplementation. :/
