  • The first country to give all women the vote was New Zealand in 1893, although women who owned property in Sweden had the vote as early as 1862. New Zealand was followed by Australia in 1902. Despite the women’s suffrage movement starting in the 1860’s most other countries didn’t give the vote to women until the 1920’s.
  • This is in the wrong category, as it doesn't involve the United States, or even North America! It was Sweden in 1862, but only included property owners. All women were given the vote in New Zealand in 1893.
