Wireless electricity works by having 2 items resonating at the same frequency, this allows the electricity to arc between the two items without any interference. Devices such as my electric toothbrush use the technology, but currently they have to be in close proximity. I remember reading an article that said in future we may have electronic mats, like mousemats, that we can place compatible electronic items on that could be charged simply by placing them on the mat, because the items are resonating at the same frequency, there would be no loss of energy in wastage. Imagine walking in after a day out and just dropping your camera and phone on the matt at your desk, the next day you just pick them up and walk out, the devices being fully charged! Awesome!
