Help answer this question below.
Good question. I use to be like most everyone and enjoyed going out and spending money. But the past few years I think a lot harder before I buy.
I have bought so much junk in my life just to see it sit around after a short while only to collect dust and when I get tired of seeing it I either give it away or store it away or even just throw it out.
I am anything but tight with my money but rather use it to buy for others than I would to have something sit on a shelve and collect dust.
i never care abt my spendings
I used to be pretty bad at impulse purchasing, racking up credit card debt (those interest fees cancelled out the good deal I got on the purchase price). Now I have myself in check.
I try to watch my spending and try to keep some back in reserve. One thing I have learned over time is that if you are ill prepared, that's when unexpected costs pop up. Things like the hot water heater dies or the fridge quits, or some other thing that is a necessity.
Good question
First before i spend money i ask myself "WANTS" and "NEEDS" if i wanted to spend then i will think twice and if i need something to spend on it then i will go ahead and spend it ,but sometime in life there are other things which which i want and then i pay the price and get it for my satisfication in my life in order to fullfill my desires.
I am VERY frugal with my money. I don't have much of it at all, and I have to pay for university for the next three years!
I am very careful about spending money... I would only ever spend what I can afford, and usually don't like spending much at all. Besides necessities and gifts for friends and family, I only like to spend it on things that are practical for the future, or truly meaningful to me. I would rather go without extras for a year and then spend my saved money on a luxury trip or something else that I will be really glad about afterwards. I can easily skip coffee if it means I can get a monthly massage instead. And I'd rather have a small collection of high quality clothes and products than a large collection of okay ones. I'm definitely a quality over quantity kind of girl:)
I'm a pretty reckless spender, but I'm improving. I work hard, make a good deal of money, and then blow it, but I'm working on saving now. It's definitely smarter.
Depends on how the day is going, if I've been feeling down I notice I want to shop more to feel better
Well I LIKE to spend money, but I dont and can't even if I wanted too. I have responsibilities and prioraties and I don't make a lot right now. My money goes to Rent and Food. Nothing left over.
No I don't. +5
Definitely not the former, but neither would I say am I frugal. I am somewhere in between. My only debt is my mortgage, and I do spend less than I earn.
However all that is about to be truly tested as I have no job at the moment and I have nearly given up all hope of finding one. I pray I have the ability to think clearly about what steps I need to take to deal with such a situation. Currently I have lost all ability and am in a state of despair.
I used to be quite extravagant in the earlier days of my marriage, and once it became so bad I didn't have money to pay the taxman. I actually had to "break" a bank fixed deposit for this purpose.
Then my wife put me on the path of thrift, and sincere thanks to her, I've become quite tight fisted now. But it took some years for her to bring that change about in me. That's one of the reasons I so love her.
At a younger age I spent like there was tomorrow...Now that I have aged......you almost need a crow bar to get me to open up my wallet.
I don't even like to spend it on necessities!
I am always very careful with my spending.
I have only debit cards and no credit cards.
I will spend only a portion of my income and save the rest.
The expenses are always need based, never whimsical.
I am very careful with what I buy. I buy on sale and generic brands. I do admit to spending what I don't have sometimes on vacations and gifts at Christmas but for the most part I am very careful.
i would think that i dont spend money wildly but not conservetivly either
careless when it comes to spending.
i like to spend money but ONLY when i have extra which is rare these days. LOL!
Up until recently i just spent as I went along. But this last week or two I've had to budget a little bit. I'm sure things will change back soon though.
You tell me, CT!
I only spend like a maniac when I can afford it. Give me 3000 dollars to spend freely and 'POOF' in three days it can be gone. Well that is not entirely correct, I always share everything with my husband so we would spend it together.
When we do not have any money to spend it is simple, then we dont spend anything. Right now, we can only afford to go shopping for groceries that are very cheap. I dont feel sad. I still have a roof over my head, my husband and I are happy together and we have a wonderful son who can always cheer me up when I feel down. I have really learned that without money I still am happy. In fact I have never been more content with my life than I am now.
I don't spend more than I can afford to.
I have the discipline to be very frugal but I also have two daughters and an s/o who have no clue what frugal means. I don't like to spend lots of money for little benefit.
Nope. I've never done that in my life. I'm the type that pays bills the day they arrive in the mail or in advance(in some cases way in advance). I never buy/charge anything I can't afford. I don't need "stuff" to be happy so there's no point in buying more of it! :)
My family considers me conservative in spending.

Good point CW you know..we are all guilty of buying things we don't need..I dislike clutter in the home and now I don't buy anything unless I need it or I know it will get used many times...
Thank you :D
