  • The program uses a number of different techniques. Basic levels show simple/common words and phrases and their English equivalent (if English is your first/primary language). In addition to showing the words, they show pictures to represent terms (dog, boy, bicycle, water, milk... etc etc). If your microphone works, you can answer their "fill in the blank" sentences with the correct word and it uses voice recognition to determine if you're pronouncing and enunciating the vocabulary properly. The format is multiple choice, drag and drop, fill-in-the-blank, with and without hints depending on the level of instruction that you've attained. I know it's rather expensive, and I was fortunate enough to try it through the military for free; if I were to stick to it on a regular basis I'm sure it would work quite fine... I just didn't have the time to devote to learning a third language.
