At cookouts, I put out a large jar of hot water with melted butter floating on top. You just dunk the corn and pull it out for a nice, even coating. I don't use it myself, however.I don't think corn needs it.

As soon the corn on the cob is very well cook apply little salt and apply butter with butter knief just spread the butter and it will melt.
