  • No, it won't close up in 10 minutes, but it might be a little difficult/painful to get back in, and you'll also be upping your risk of infection. So I suggest bringing antibacterial soap with you, and wash your hands thoroughly before taking it out and again before putting it back in. Also bring rubbing alcohol with you, and soak the piercing in the rubbing alcohol and then let it thoroughly air-dry before putting it back in. (The air drying is important -- like bleach, that's how rubbing alcohol disinfects.) And note that your speaking may still be a little slurry even with the piercing out, because your tongue is likely a little swollen. This is a good example of why people should plan their piercings ahead of time and not be impulsive!
