    Go to your profile page and click "Preferences". In the section labeled "Notifications", uncheck any boxes for which you do not desire to be notified of. When you are done, click "Update". This should fix your problem. You can close your profile page and then re-open it in a few minutes to verify that it has actually updated your preferences the way you wanted.
