The current economic situation has affected my job and my side business as well, so i have definately been more cautious on purchasing no more than what I actually need. I think that is what alot of people have done and it eventually trickles down.

No. I was raised by people who had been through the Great Depression. Their stories were a LOT more horrific than anything that has happened with this current downturn.

I'm a wee bit more wary of door to door salesman. Everyone seems to be eager to scam me out of money.

Being caught squarely in the mess of our economy, I have felt my stress levels climb steadily, my belief in my abilities drop and my hope for a future of my own making vanish like smoke. I am very frugal, work hard, accepted no public handouts and very little private help. Because of the careful life I have built, I am in better shape than many who deal with the same issues. But I am still sliding toward the slippery cliff edge where I finally lose everything and can't climb back out. I am angry that a few have been allowed (encouraged) to play to their greed at the expense of so many who trusted and believed and played by the rules. I am furious that so many of these gluttons have not been made to answer for their role in this mess, and they never will be. Yes, I have been changed by this. Not for the better.
