  • I have a question of my own: Why didn't the doctors use sound waves to pulverize the stone into grains of sand? The way it was explained to me, the patient sits in a kind of whirlpool bath while sonic waves are aimed at the area of the stone, dissolving the stone into grains of "sand," and those grains are simply flushed from your body, the next time you urinate. Please ask your doctor(s) if such a procedure does exist, and why it wasn't used on you. +5
  • 10 & 1/2 weeks. 6 trips to the ER. 2 different Urologists. $9,000 in ER bills. 3 CT scans. 1 x-ray. 1 ultra sound. Passed the kidney stone on my own this morning. Thank GOD! Surgery was scheduled for Wednesday. Now I can have the second one (6mm) blasted and get on a program to make sure I never get another one. Thanks for all your well wishes.
