Should authorities be able to take a child away from his parents if he is morbidly obese?

    Only if they have been counceled about their part in the abuse. But, yes if they refuse to change what it is they are doing. A child is fed by his/her caretakers and if he/she is not getting the appropriate foods or in the appropriate amounts, to me, it is the same as starving a child.

    I think that if you are not actively trying to help your child and actually adding to the destrucitve behavior that the child should be taken away, but if you have been trying to help the child and it stil isn't working then no. If they are getting help then they are doing their duties as parents but if they are not and are in enabling the behavior take the child away.
