AB is a bit slow right now. I see a statement on the sign on screen which reads, "our community of over 1,054,000 will find your answer!" Do you think too many users is the reason AB is moving so slow? (2009-08-22)

I believe the slow down would be more than likely server related, but not for the reason you're thinking. They use multiple servers, and are likely doing maintenance or repairs to one or more, leaving the rest to carry the load. I'm pretty sure the number that you see on the front page represents the all time total of members, not the active members, or the number of users online at any given time.
