  • I think we should not use money anymore but rather everyone go electronic....:)
  • They've tried it to no avail!
  • No. Coins weigh more and take up more space. I like to sleep on a bed of dollar bills and pretend I'm rich. Coins would just be too uncomfortable.
  • NO. I like keeping ones in my wallet. I don't want to keep coins.
  • I don't think so, I've mixed those coins up with quarters and the $2.00 bills didn't work out well either. I think they should leave well enough alone.
  • Nobody seems to like the dollar coins. The only place I ever get them in change is the post office. When I give them a clerk they look at look at me like I am a kook. They are just for use in vending machines. I hope they catch on. They cost less, given how long they last.
  • This is not the time to do that. If you have a stable currency, you can follow the European model; but the worst inflation we've ever seen is about to hit, and I've lived through inflation right after the collapse of the Soviet Union. First your pennies and nickels become worthless, then your dimes and quarters become worthless and the dollar becomes the new penny. I had to carry my wallet in my shirt pocket because it had to carry paper small change and paper banknotes and I couldn't fold a wallet full of the millions I eventually had to carry with me whenever I went out. When the dollar becomes the new penny because of Obama's inflation, you won't want pennies that are as bulky as today's half dollars, or half eagles, eagles and double eagles like we had in the 19th century to replace nickels, dimes and quarters.
  • I think you should get rid of it. We in New Zealand have already done that, actually I'm not sure if we ever had the note... But nevertheless the note is a waste of paper and the coin is a much handier and easier form of money to have. +5
  • The mint will now ship 250 of the coins for $250. No shipping charge. I like using them. http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&identifier=8100
