Was life harder back then or now?

It was harder back then, but it is more complex and dangerous, today, so it isn't necessarily "better." +5

Life back was much easier then now ,beause we did not know much about daily stress and we did not worry for the next day, our jobs were secured.we used to have more organic food and also people were emtionally attached to each others.now people are self centre.

Was life harder when? Back in the days of stay-at-home moms and one income was enough to support a family? Seems harder now. Back in the middle ages/1800's.. etc probably harder then, but the work was real work doing useful things. Somehow I imagine that's more satisfying. and way back in the days of the hunter/gatherers - it seems they had plenty of leisure, at least in good years. Today's cut-throat attitude doesn't make for a good lifestyle

This is a good question. Life is life and I do not feel it was any harder back then or now, just different. We go through life thinking we have it so rough but we often fail to see life outside our own vision with so many hurting and suffering needlessly on a daily bases. Don't get me wrong, Not for a minute will I say that we do not have our share of disappointments and hard times because this is life and with that comes all kinds of problems and blessings. We should focus more on the blessings and less on those trouble times we can not control.

i think back then there was a lot less decisions to be made, but harder work to do. but now there are more decisions and still hard work, but not as hard. and back then people knew about when they were going to die because no one really lived that long, and now you never know when you or someone you love could die. so really i think it all depends on how long ago you consider "back then" and how you would define a harder life.
