  • Ask for a copy of the development's HOA Rules & Regulations. They are allowed to state how many vehicles you can have parked on the street. Some will not allow any to be parked on the street. As far as parking in the driveway, I wouldn't know why it would matter to them so long as you are not obstruction the street. Get a copy of their rules and see what it says. If the development won't provide you with one ask your landlord for it. Good luck.
  • I our gated community they are telling us we have to pay $150.00 for a permit for one car. I live in a two bedroom, and i have a garage but i store all my stuff. I was told i can only recieve one permit, but i own 2 cars. I was told if i wanted to purchase an axtra one i would have to pay 150.00. Is that fair
  • Actually if your streets are public. Your HOA cannot make any rules regarding parking vehicles on the street.
  • When we moved into our community a year ago, there were no regulation on parking on the street. If there had been, we would not have purchased our home. Now, the HOA is saying that it is going to add a new rule that there can be no parking on the street. We have three cars, and only two spot. With five kids, it's only going to get worse as they all start to drive. We live in a private gated community. With private roads. Can they change the rules? What sort of recourse do we have if any?
  • It depends on the Covenants. If it is stated in the Covenants, then they can control it. If it isn't then they can't.
