  • Well nothing went 'wrong' but I was flying from Manchester to Atlanta, and there was a bloke next to me reading 'lads mags' Which are mags with scantily dressed clothing. He kept going to the bathroom and it grossed me out to the point i didnt want him touching my plate when the ladies passed out the dinner tray!
  • In a small aircraft, we hit a down draft right after takeoff. The plane dropped straight down for several seconds before the pilot was able to pull us out of it. I swear I could feel the treetops scratching my butt before the plane started to climb again.
  • Never had a bad flight and I have flown over 30 times. So I guess the guy sitting next to me on a flight to Texas that had terrible body odor would be the worst.
  • When I was a student pilot on leg one of my short cross country when I flared the aircraft (C150) veered to the right a bit but I landed without incident. When I was on leg two I was just flairing to land when I passed a tree line. I was landing to the north and a strong crosswind gust from the west that I wasn't able to correct for lifted the left wing and I finished my landing in the muddy grass next to the runway. No big deal until I got out and saw that where I stopped the prop was about 4" from a concrete drainage pipe. If the plane didn't stop where it did I would have had a "prop strike" which is a VERY expensive mistake. When I got back to my home airport I told my CFI about how when I was flairing it seemed I was drifting to the right. So we went around the patch and he watched me... as I was flairing he called "my airplane" then called me a dumb ****. Seems that I must have had the seat too close to the panel and the result was when I pulled all the way back on the yoke I was adding right aileron. We did about about a dozen full stops and touch and go's and all was well, never had that problem again. Since then I've always been very concise about not adding any unwanted roll when I flair.
  • A rough landing at O'Hare airport. A lady with a small kenneled dog lost control of the kennel and it flew through the air cold cocking three passengers. It was a mess.
