  • Some of it but it doesn't reduce it. Basically, when you get to the point where you can't do the exercise anymore, music won't help.
  • All on one's opinion. It shifts your attention to the music so I guess it can be true.
  • well you shouldn't nesacerily be in pain when you excersize - by the word `pain` you mean burn? and yes it can distract you from it - and it is also a very good motivator to keep you going on to do more exerscize :) :)
  • I don't think it helps you to ignore the pain, but the music makes it just a little more bearable because you're being pumped by the energy that it feeds you. I, personally, don't listen to music while working out- mainly because I do pilates and yoga and music would be a distraction to me and my breathing techniques. If doing cardio work-outs, then I'm sure music helps alot. You'll feel the pain regardless, but you should embrace it because it lets you know that whatever you're doing is working- but never push yourself TOO far. Know your limits.
  • i just use it as a motivator it pumps me WAY up music is my jumpstart
