I was a kid in the early sixties, when hippies were starting to spread and multiply...so I can say that the greatest fad was to look like s**t, with very long, untreated and uncombed hair, lousy clothes, and doing drugs to become philosophical and talk a lot of crap about saving the world from everything that represented law and order...

I don't know about "fads", but, everyone in school collected these bubble gum cards of Hot Rods with weird names. The hardest card to get was "Super Fuzz". Long hair and "chukka" boots were pretty popular, too.

Chupachups, I can't remember the name of this but you put it around one leg and jumped over it... Mine was hot pink (Hop Jump maybe??), baseball cards, pogs, Belts that were extra long so it hung down to your knees instead of around your waist, My Little Pony, Leggings with long shirts that were brought to the side with a little thing that looks like the "No smoking" circle with the line through it. I had tons of those. Of course scrunchie socks, Keds, Scrunchies (hair), TMNT... OMG... I feel like an I Love The 80's Episode! :P Can't forget Hammer Pants/ MC Hammer. I loved him.
