Cracks me up but I usually make a joke of it. "I know I know you but I just cant remember where from, I think its early dementia. "

True story... A total stranger walked up behind me at a shopping mall, slapped me on the back, and said, "Harry, you old son-of-a-bitch!" I turned around slowly so he could see my face, and when he did, he exclaimed, "I've got the wrong son-of-a-bitch!" Another true story... This pretty girl approached me in the parking lot of a grocery store and acted like we were old friends from years ago. She couldn't answer my question, "What's my name?" so I said, "Sorry, I don't have time for panhandling scams today." +5

I've gotten so used to it I have a standard response. "I've just got one of those faces"
-
If i really don't know them, i could have fun with them Muahahahahaaa LOL However, there is a couple friends i once knew in school..but can't remember how i knew them
-
Actually I'd be perplexed instead, and wonder who the "nut" is. Lol.

It's never happened to me. I might forget a name occasionally, but rarely forget a face. Closest I come to this is with teenagers at my kid's school...and that's because they HAVE known me most of their lives from school events even when I never really knew them. They've grown so much they're harder to recognize anyway!
-
no, I hate it and with my memory it happens all the time.
-
No I absolutely hate it. Especially if they call you by your first name. Arghhh!
-
I don't remember it happening. I don't have Alzheimer's.
