I had one of those many years ago. It was in for about a month, and exactly the same thing happened to me. I didnt want to remove it, but I couldnt sleep properly, so I too it out and felt much relieved. You may want to do the same.

Make sure your soaks aren't too salty and you're using a clean glass. Keep soaking it and see if it improves within a week. You can try hot chamomile tea bags as compresses on the bumps as well, that works for many people, but don't try this until all signs of bleeding are gone. If soaking and chamomile don't help, try adding a drop or two of tea tree essential oil to your soak. That's worked for me on my most stubborn bumps. Most bumps are basically pockets of infection, and they need extra care to drain and heal. You can remove your jewelry, but you should still continue the aftercare to help drain the bumps. Of course if it keeps swelling, hurts more, doesn't get better, or there are other symptoms, see a doctor.
