Colorado decreasing minimum wage. This is the first decrease in any state’s minimum rate since 1938, the year it was introduced. The reason for the decrease is because Colorado is one of ten states that fix their minimum wage rate to the rate of inflation. Recently, the decision was made to lower the Colorado minimum wage by 3 cents an hour – though it's only 3 cents an hour, and over a year it doesn't even add up to the average size of payday loans, but it does make an impact.
