Can a woman (newly converted muslim) marry a man islamically before her civil divorce from her christian husband has be finalized?

Wow, talk about complicated. Speaking only on terms of religion.And because I was told that Muslims do not recognize Christ I would think so. But then what would I know, I'm Wiccan.

Well legally: No. Islamically, maybe. Since in Islam the purpose of marriage is: 1. To restrain sexual passion. (allah rewards those who are patient) 2. The ordering of domestic life. 3. The expansion of the family. 4. The care and responsibility towards children. So if your husband is okay with it, and his family is okay with it - then it is probably okay. I am a little surprised HE is okay with it, since divorce is a last measure sort of thing. Assalamu alaykum to both of you, and i hope it goes well :)
