I have no favorite.....I like to wander in American Indian museums.... I have a few friends belonging to different tribes and the history and passion of the people draws me to know more. Also...their costumes, dance and language are amazing to look at and listen too.

The Archaeological Survey of India Museum at Saranath, India the most impressive museum I have visited several times as I found it full of most fascinating exhibits. Here you will find locally excavated artifacts from 2nd century AD to the 16th Century AD. As you move from one gallery to the next you will find yourself moving across centuries, witnessing the rise of Buddhism in India to its peak at 7th Century and then its slow and steady integration into its parent religion, Hinduism, by the 12th Century AD. By the 14th Century artifacts on display you will find that Buddhism had merged completely into Hinduism. Exhibits range from a 18 feet Giant stone wheel to few inches tall Buddha statues. . This merger of Buddhism into Hinduism happened only in India whereas Buddhism continued to flourish in various forms in all other countries to which it had spread.

MOMA in NYC The Musem of Modern Art. It covers a multitude of periods and encompasses many styles of modern art from the Impressionists & post impressionist to the most current artists. It also has a section devoted to design. As well as many guest exhibitions. (The videographer was a little too hung up on the helicopter and the car. Btw, the keep changing the car on display.) +5

I guess it's not a museum, per se, but the magnificent entirety of the Vatican. Tears streamed from my eyes throughout...but, admittedly, I'm a sentimental whooz. :-) +5
