I'm not sure if petitions are allowed but no legitimate business or government dept. will accept them. It's a total waste of time to collect people on a computer generated petition.

I would like to make a motion we ask staff to require all users to have a unique user name. It's plenty anonymous. No need to disclose any details about yourself. For those that don't want to chose a name, let the computer do it for them. We have lord knows how many Anonymouses now. When you get into a discussion with one, you never know whether comments are from this one, that one or another. Does anyone second that motion?

I scanned through the Terms of Service for you, CatLover, and I saw nothing. However, there are plenty of clauses that would preclude any success you might ordinarily have. Answerbag has the right to terminate anything they deem unfit or hurtful to their business, and believe me when I say, those are VERY broad terms. Bottom line - it depends on the subject of the petition. +5 Here is the link, if you need it: http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/15

I would advise against it. Petitions can come back and bite you on the a**....they have on AB in the past so I would neither start one nor sign one. :)
