I was always told that if they're tail is up straight they're in a good mood, and if it's down---look out! Is it true?.........I have no idea : )

Easily..I know my cats very well..Other people's cats its not as easy unless the cat is hungry, tired or angry...

I can tell by the position of his whiskers. If they are down low he is mellow, if they are straight back he's in his retarded cat mode.

Well I have three cats each of them are extremely different. Penelope well lets just say you know when she is not a happy hissing, etc. She is pretty vocal really. Then we have Sophie you can tell by her body posture most of the time, but she will cry if she doesn't like something so she has recieved the name little baby Sophie. Ha ha..then Chloe she is always happy as long as there is food and a nice place to sleep she is happy. But if one of the dogs irritates her or I am brushing her, the tail starts flying. Ha ha..
