No. I think the chain went out of business like Mervyns and Mongtomery Wards. + 3

I do ... in our home town we had a store that we called "The Dime Store". I don't even remember it's real name. There were Woolworth's and Kresge's in larger cities around though. I don't think they're around anymore though.

I do, I think they're called dollar stores now!

Woolworth's, mmmmm... smelled like popcorn, cotton candy and spearmint gum. TG&Y smelled like cheap plastic. Oh yeah, I remember those days. Haven't seen one in ages, unless you equate them with Wal-Mart, ugh!

Yes I remember them and they are all gone. The dollar store is a little like them, but not as much fun and good smells.
-
We had both. I remember the ice cream counter the most. Now they just have Dollar Stores which aren't nearly as good.
-
Oh yes, those were the days. I remember walking into a 5 & 10 cent store and buying a tiny tears doll. I think Woolworth is still around but not sure.

I remember going into Woolworths and seeing how high the prices were. It was right before they went out of business. It was still a good place to get books or socks. Strange to think the Woolworth company is now known as Foot Locker, Inc.http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/29107 There are Ben Franklin Stores in many states that have similar things that these old stores carried.
