    You could get winrar. But 7-zip is free also, and is much better in my opinion.

    It supports all the main archive formats, with different compression algorithms and file encryption. You can also split files into multiple other files and password protect archives..

    download winrar, i think theres a free version.

    check download.com or cnet.com

    you extract them like a zip file, its just an archived folder. +3

    Winrar isn't free, you are supposed to pay for the license to continue use after a certain length of time.

    If you want something nice and simple, check out Rarzilla (give it a search on download.com). It just opens rar files, simple as, no messy interface.
