I need to get an output of 3V DC. I have an input of 10V DC. I need a maximum current draw of 20 milliamps, and my output needs to be extremely stable. What type of circuit and components should I use?

    How about an LM317 ?

    The example circuit uses 12V in, but 10V is even better.
