Please don't expect a man to propose when and how you want them to. If you do and it doesn't happen the way you want it to then you will be dissapointed and may start pressing him more. Just go to Paris to enjoy the trip and eachother. If you have fun and the mood presents itself it might happen. Finally, life and relatioships are about taking risks.

I think it would help if we knew what the circumstances were, but I do agree with Mastercoach, you can't expect him to propose. Go and enjoy yourself

Gooooofy question. Like being in Paris or not will change love and commitment. What are you, 12?

I think that is the problem with women. Instead of going with the flow of the relationship we have feel the need and want to get married and if they dont propose when we want them to we feel a tremendous amount of disappointment. Guys know what they want and it is typically not at the same time that we want it. They want to get married but they take there time in making that decision they dont feel the need to rush things. Depending on how long you all have been together I would just go and EXPECT to have a good time with no pressure put on him otherwise you will push him away. If you all have been together for more then 5 years I would start to question it but if it is less then 4 years I would just go with it. Does he want to get married some day. Do you know all of this stuff. There are a few that dont want to get married because why go threw the trouble, if he loves you he loves you and being married doesnt change that. You need to know his feelings for you.

A lot could happen between now and April! You cannot expect to enjoy a trip if you are imagining plans in your head that may or may not happen....even if he does propose you will have built it up in your head to be so perfect that you may well be disappointed. What if he doesn't propose? It doesn't mean that he won't at some time but that he isn't ready. Take the trip - but go with an open mind and enjoy being together; if it is right it will happen - at the right time......

CIRCUMSTANCES: He is in AA. He told me a month ago he was planning to propose when he finishes the year at AA.They'll give him a "year in abstinence certificate" which is a public event that takes place in an auditorium. His idea was to propose on the stage in front of everybody but I am SOOOOO shy I said it would be awkward for me so finally he decided not to do so. Now he says he wants to go to Paris right after he is given the certificate "just to celebrate he has gone through all the AA process" (he hasn't mentioned the proposal subject again). That's why I have reasons to think that he might propose in Paris (and if he doesn't it'll be like he completely forgot about it and doesn't care anymore).

How selfish. Go on the damn trip.

Don't expect anything out of anybody and you'll be happy

If that happened to me, I would want to take a chaparone with me on the trip----family traditions. An unmarried lady must have a chaparone on an extended trip. Chances are he will propose before you go on the trip and you will go happily married to Paris. Or, he may tell you his intentions that he just wants to take you but not thinking about marriage. I wouldn't go off with my boyfriend on such a trip. Paris will be there a long, long time and will wait until I get there. Why hasn't he proposed yet? What are the circumstances you expect him to propose in Paris? If you don't put value on yourself before marriage, don't expect any later.

Oh that is the worst thing you can do to yourself! Why do you want to end up heartbroken? I mean if he does not propose it will be you who broke your own heart by expecting something from him. Give the guy a break! Let him propose the way he want, remember it is his marriage/wedding too!
