  • First - I'm very, very happy for you. :) Telling your parents shouldn't be something to dread. How to approach it all depends on what their beliefs are, how old you are, and what your relationship is like. What is their opinion of Christianity? If they are indifferent, your news shouldn't unpset them. Make sure they understand how big and wonderful this decision is to you. You have my prayers. :)
  • just tell them that it is your choice. also stand firm.
  • I think you'd have to tailor your message to the beliefs of your parents and their feelings about your past religious beliefs. Until you are secure in your beliefs, are you ready to approach your parents? I'd practice on some friends first.
  • Hello? Hey you two! YA YOU! MY HEATHEN PARENTS! JESUS LOVES ME!
  • I remember telling my parents and they were bewildered...their understanding of christianity was traditional, and they could not understand a personal belief or why I termed it "becoming a christian" when, to them , I was already. So, if your parents are like mine, keep your explanations simple and free of jargon words... All the best and blessings in Jesus.
  • Hehehe, AR, nice twist on this, though I doubt that any of the christians will see the irony. Let's see, if you were a Wiccan and had a temporary bout of malaria, you could always blame the conversion on the fever. :)
  • Let them see the difference in you by your Christ-like example. They will know your of a different spirit, by your whole new turn around in Christ. The bible says, "All old things pass away and everything becames new. They will eventually want to have what you have. Nothing could ever make you happy than knowing that you have a hope. Maybe you can invite them to church for a choir concert, or christmas program, or Easter. Just planting a seed inside them can make them think.
  • I'm not a Christian and I have two children. If either of them told me they had become Christians the only feeling I would have would be one of envy. I truly envy people who have faith. So don't worry about it, just tell them. It's not like telling them that you're a bank robber, is it?
