Why on TV commercials do people insist on telling us their first names? Do we care?

HI MY NAME IS MARK! I supose they think that if we know their name we will think of them as our freinds and of course we take the recomendations from freinds more seriously.

They are secretly hoping that in your loneliness you will respond by saying, "Hi my name is____" despite no one being around the commercial actor not being able to hear you. It's how they get their giggles.

To build rapport with the audience who they obviously care about so much. I'm sure they go through a list of names and statistics to figure out which name is the friendliest and most likable. "Hi, I'm Miles, and I have something I'd like to share with you..."
