i think that gtravels provides a wonderful list!!! i'd include - arlington national cemetery, mount vernon, bull run, william and mary, appomatox courthouse, richmond, driving along the skyline drive in shenandoah national park and the blueridge parkway further south especially during fall, i like monticello the university of virginia patrick henry's estate
