  • I've never entered one of those rooms with a stopwatch, so I honestly don't know, but I've been told that you should remain in one, only as long as you feel "comfortable," and to exit when you begin to feel dizzy or like you might regurgitate. I had a buddy whose grandfather was 80 years old, originally from Finland (where the Sauna was invented) and living on a ranch in Minnesota. We went to visit him one winter and he invited us to sauna with him, so we teenagers went to the sauna in his backyard with him. He walked into it with a newspaper and a hot cup of black coffee. We stayed in there for about 10 minutes, before we HAD to leave. "Gramps" stayed in there for around TWO HOURS, reading his Sunday newspaper, then came outside, rolled around naked in the snow, got another cup of hot coffee and went back in for two additional hours. "Beaten," by an 80-year-old Finlander! How humiliating! +5
