  • It would depend on where you want to go and if you are determined to get there. And also being realistic. I quit school and was heading for jail or death hanging out with the wrong people but I happened to talk to an Army recruiter and he got me in without a diploma. I took my GED in basic and am doing very well now. I even plan on starting college in a month or 2. Not that I'm saying you should join the Army. Just an example. Hope it helped.
  • Once you get a GED, you cannot go back and get a high school diploma. It's one or the other, so make sure your direction wouldn't be more benificial with a diploma (blue collar jobs) before getting the GED, where the only way to upgrade from that would be college. Some people think that a GED is good enough, but don't believe it. Employers DO see a difference, and that difference will effect how much money you make. I know from personal experience, don't sell yourself short.
