If I had my Cell Phone I'd call the cops if not I would find the nearest payhone and call the cops. I however would not intervene in any way.
I used to do that but every time I did I would get the girl spitting in my face or punching biting and kicking me telling me to butt out so I learned not to get involved anymore.

The girl turned on me!
Now I would just call the cops or something.

Sounds like a lot of men on this site are cowards. They would rather not "risk" themselves being put in harms way to save a woman from being abused. Sounds like they are just as pathetic as the men whom laid a hand on the woman in the first place.
As a woman I would even attempt to intervene and keep another woman from being beaten up by a man. At the very least scream at him that I was calling the cops and get as much information about the situation as possible, including descriptions and/or lisence plate #'s or something. If it came down to it, I would reach under the seat of my pick up and grab my 357 and request him to keep his hands to himself.

that domestic situation can be dangerous. first i would call the police, then i would make sure he knew someone was there and try to make distractions. if he didn't have a gun i would find something to defend my self with. i would do what i could to help her without getting harmed myself.

This is one of the "Big Three" reasons that would drive me to intervene on behalf of the girl. The other two being: Picking on an elderly person, or abusing someone incapable of defending themselves. If a guy wants to throw some punches, let him do it with someone capable of giving him the kind of beating he deserves. I won't stand for anything like a bullying coward taking it out on a girl.

We live in a liberal society and chivalry is dead. Calling the police is useless- they take forever to show up. Getting into a physical confrontation with the man would lead to me getting hurt, at the very least, and jail time for me, at the very worst. Judges in California are unpredictable and unreliable, and I don't care to be before one.
Gone are the days when men were hailed as heroes for charging in on their white stallions to save a damsel in distress. Those days have been replaced with computers, women in pants, and the two income household.

I honestly don't know what I would do, I would hope that I would defend her or get help. I've seen verbal abuse and I did nothing. But hopefully if it's physical I would stand up for someone.

It depends on where I saw/heard it happening. In public, start yelling, and call the cops. In let's say in an apt, call the cops, and either bide my time to see what I could do to help so I don't get hurt or load up my shotgun and try to get him to stop. I have many scenarios that play through my head when I think of a scenario like that.
