you can find everything from Toys R Us at a different store for much less. I shop online a lot for toys.

Whenever possible, I like to get toys second-hand (freecycle, craigslist), or from small-scale manufacturers. I have my eye on a tricycle made by a local hobbyist for when Ian is a little bigger. The body is made from driftwood! Very original.

Seeing how I work in my sisters Toy store...mom and pop all the way!!!!!!!

I love Hamleys a toy store in London. I used to hunt around for toys. Now I do not go into toy stores. I give cash to the parents to buy what my nephews and nieces want.

i personally prefer the smaller business but, when it comes to the latest rage, i go to who has IT in stock, which is usually nobody. So i get on a 'list' and pay in advance, and usually the store that comes through, is the Mom-n-Pop, NOT TOYS-R-US, unless i want to wait on line overnight when it is below freezing and there are 71d people on line and i am the 68th person and the store only guarantees 50 copies.

One-stop-shopping stores are extremely convenient, but generally don't have a custom-tailored inventory that suits my wants, or a price I can't beat online somewhere. If Toys-R-Us has something I want at a price I'm willing to pay for it, I'll go to Toys-R-Us. If not, I'll go elsewhere.
