  • NO, the people who believe that you can force gay people to become straight through prayer, brainwashing and shunning. Believe that despite the best scientific evidence to the contrary that creation happened just the way the bible says it did. People of hate will continue to damage their children no matter what the APA says.
  • I doubt it will change a thing. If a straight person were open to rational thought, they would quickly realize that no amount of "therapy" could turn them gay and make them forget about the allure of the opposite sex. Any rational person would then realize that the same applies to those who are attracted to their own gender. So we know that rationality isn't what is operating in these people, and a rational appeal isn't going to change their minds.
  • It has just as much of a shot at ending that belief as it does of convincing people that Barack Obama was born in Hawai'i. In both cases, those beliefs fill some kind of psychological need and are too important to the people who hold them to let a few little inconvenient facts get in the way.
