  • Not all addictions are bad...for example u could be addicted to giving gifts and thats not bad.
  • an addiction is something that interferes with your ability to function normally within society (hold a job, maintain a relationship) as such i would say all addictions are bad.
  • I wish I were addicted to exercise and healthy food.
  • Addictions are only bad if they start consuming all of your time and never letting you do anything else.
  • Normally yes. I can't think of any "addictions" that wouldn't be bad. To be addicted to something means it controls you and you couldn't stop even if you wanted to...I'm not sure that would be good in any area?
  • An addiction occurs when specialized chemical receptors in the brain are "activated" by the stimulating chemical. Once activated, they never turn off. They always "seek" the chemical, and this phenomenon is percieved in the consciousness as a desire or craving. It is a constant distraction in the consciousness and as such is an impediment to clear thinking, just like a loud noise is an impediment to clear "hearing". It is always bad for that reason.
  • When someone thinks of addictions they think of it as a bad thing. But there are somethings that you can be addicted to that are not necessarily bad. Such as chocolate. Sure it's not GREAT for your health, but as long as you eat it in moderation, who cares? It's not like you are going to go to jail for it. There's also reading. I consider myself addicted to reading. I'll drop everything to read something new that catches my eye. It usually causes me to be late, or waste time, but really is it that bad? Some people are addicted to exercise, cleaning, etc. Is that so bad?
